What is the California Tahoe Conservancy?


The Tahoe Conservancy is an independent agency within the California State Resources Agency. The Conservancy was established in 1984 to develop and implement programs through acquisitions and site improvements to preserve water quality at Lake Tahoe, preserve the scenic beauty and recreational opportunities of the region, provide public access, preserve wildlife habitat areas, and restore lands to protect the natural environment.
